LITTLE ELEPHANTS PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL UNIQUE ASPECTS
School assemblies:
These take place 3 times a week in the school hall and cover Christian values and other enrichment programmes.
Monday: Traditional assembly
Wednesday: Learning new songs
Friday: Character building using puppets & persona dolls to tackle important issues
Movement:
Every Friday the 100 pupils rotate movement classes between the various teachers as follows:
Moving to music and instruments as well as singing
Physical education
Modern educational dances
Giving back to the community:
2007 - All pupils attended school dresses in red and brought a donation to school which was given to Epilepsy South Africa
2008 - We plan to hold a mini concert in the second term for the elderly.
Media Centre
This was a new addition in 2008 and offers the following:
Introduction to computer literacy
Look & listen - tape assisted reading
A library
Educational toys
First Aid:
2007 - All staff completed a Level I first aid course
2008 - We are planning to all complete the Level II course
Fire Drill:
We are currently busy working with the fire department to establish an emergency fire drill and to practice this on a regular basis.
